Present simple dopo le parole di tempo

In breve

Parola di tempo Parte di tempo (present simple) Parte principale (will)
when when she gets the keys we**'ll carry** the boxes
as soon as as soon as he moves I**'ll call** you
before before we leave we**'ll clean** the flat
after after the landlord calls we**'ll paint** the walls
until until the flat is ready we**'ll stay** here

Niente not dopo until. Parte di tempo all'inizio → virgola.

A2 · Lezione 16 · when, as soon as, before, after, until: il futuro senza will

Nell'ultima lezione hai visto il first conditional: If it rains, we will stay at home. Il will sta solo nell'altra parte.

Con cinque parole di tempo succede la stessa cosa: when, as soon as, before, after e until.

  • When the van arrives, we'll carry* the boxes out.* (NON when the van will arrive)
  • I'll call* you as soon as I get the keys.* (NON as soon as I will get)

whenquando: nel momento in cui succederàWhen we find a new flat, we**'ll move**.
as soon asappena, non appena: subito, in quel momento, non dopoI**'ll phone** you as soon as the van arrives.
beforeprima che, prima diWe**'ll pack** the plates before the kitchen is empty.
afterdopo che, dopoAfter we move, we**'ll paint** the walls.
untilfinché (non): fino a quel momento, poi bastaI**'ll stay** here until the van comes.

before e after stabiliscono l'ordine, come prima e dopo in italiano: in We'll eat after we unpack prima si svuotano le scatole e poi si mangia; in We'll eat before we unpack si mangia prima.

Dove l'italiano cambia forma e l'inglese no

Se viene prima, metti la virgola, come in italiano: After the men leave, I'll clean* the flat.* = I'll clean* the flat after the men leave.* I tempi restano gli stessi.

Ricordati la -s alla terza persona singolare: when the van arrives, until my sister comes. E be nella parte di tempo diventa am / is / are: before the kitchen is empty.

Terza persona singolare nella parte di tempo
I / we / theyhe / she / it
when I get the keyswhen she gets the keys
as soon as we moveas soon as he moves
until they calluntil the landlord calls
after we goafter my father goes

Mai will subito dopo when, as soon as, before, after o until quando parli di tempo: I'll call you when I get home, NON when I will get home.

Non tradurre il non di finché non. «Resto qui finché non arriva il furgone» è I'll stay here until the van comes, NON until the van doesn't come. We won't move until the new flat is ready. = traslocheremo solo allora, non prima.
