Es el pasado perfecto (had finished) llevado al futuro: By the time the client calls, we will have finished the report.

Cómo se forma

will y have no cambian nunca: el verbo lo lleva solo el participio.
FormaEstructuraEjemplo
Afirmativasujeto + will have + participio pasadoBy Friday, I will have finished the design.
Forma cortasujeto + 'll have + participio pasadoShe**'ll have sent** the invoice by noon.
Negativasujeto + won't have + participio pasadoWe won't have tested the app by Monday.
PreguntaWill + sujeto + have + participio pasado? Will you have finished the slides by five?
Pregunta con wh-palabra interrogativa + will + sujeto + have + participio? How many pages will you have written by tonight?

Donde el español conjuga habré, habrás, habrá, el inglés no cambia nada: I will have, he will have, they will have. Nunca will has.

El plazo: by y by the time

  • by + expresión de tiempo = para el viernes, antes de fin de mes: by Friday, by the end of the month, by then.
  • by the time + oración = para cuando: by the time the meeting starts, by the time you arrive.

Después de para cuando el español pone subjuntivo (para cuando llegues); el inglés pone presente simple, nunca will: by the time you arrive, no by the time you will arrive.

I'll have finished by Monday = lo habré terminado para el lunes. Con el futuro perfecto, siempre by.

Cuánto tiempo: for + duración

By June, I will have worked on this project for two years. Con be el participio es been: By May, she'll have been our manager for a year.

¿Future continuous o future perfect?

  • At nine I'll be writing the report.: a las nueve estaré escribiéndolo, la acción sigue en marcha (future continuous).
  • By nine I'll have written the report.: para las nueve ya lo habré escrito, la acción ha terminado (future perfect).
