neither e deja negativ: fără not pe verb, chiar dacă româna pune nu. Verb negativ → either: I don't want either of them.

Explicația completă, din lecția care predă regula
Româna are deja toate cele trei idei: both = amândoi / ambii, either = oricare dintre cei doi (sau ori… ori, fie… fie), neither = niciunul dintre cei doi (sau nici… nici). Sensurile nu sunt problema. Greșelile apar acolo unde engleza se desparte de română: la negație, la acordul verbului și la of.

both + substantiv la plural
Exact ca în amândouă magazinele vând: substantivul e la plural și verbul e la plural, deci Both shops sell shoes (nu sells). Diferența este că engleza nu are gen: both rămâne la fel pentru amândoi și pentru amândouă.
both of + the / my / these / them
Dacă substantivul are deja the, my, these sau alt determinant, poți spune both sau both of: both the bags = both of the bags. Înainte de pronume, of este obligatoriu și pronumele stă la forma de complement: both of them, both of us (nu both of they). Unde româna spune un singur cuvânt, amândoi, engleza are nevoie de trei: both of us, both of them. Verbul rămâne la plural: Both of these dresses look nice.
either … or, neither … nor
Româna repetă același cuvânt (ori… ori, nici… nici), dar engleza folosește două cuvinte diferite: either A or B (You can either pay by card or pay in cash.) și neither A nor B (Neither the blue one nor the red one fits.). Când cele două variante sunt substantive, verbul se acordă cu cel mai apropiat, adică B. Cu două substantive la singular, verbul e la singular: Neither the shop nor the market sells it.
neither of + plural + verb la SINGULAR
Aici româna te ajută: niciunul dintre magazine nu e deschis are tot verbul la singular. La fel și în engleză: după neither of vine un substantiv sau un pronume la plural, dar verbul e la singular: Neither of the shops is open on Sunday. Neither of them has a receipt. La fel se comportă either of (oricare dintre): Is either of these coats on sale?
Rezumat în tabelul de mai jos: plural și singular sunt forma verbului, iar agrees with B înseamnă că verbul se acordă cu a doua variantă, cea de lângă el.

Nu duce în engleză acel nu din română. În română negația se dublează: Niciunul nu e ieftin, Nici prețul, nici culoarea nu sunt bune. În engleză neither și nor sunt deja negative, deci verbul rămâne afirmativ: Neither of them is cheap, nu Neither of them isn't cheap. Dacă vrei un verb negativ, ca în română, înlocuiește neither cu either: I don't like either of them = I like neither of them.
either nu e oricare în general, ci doar oricare dintre cei doi. Pentru trei sau mai multe opțiuni se folosește alt cuvânt. În vorbirea relaxată se aude și Neither of them are…; în acest curs scrie verbul la singular după neither of (is, has, works), care este mereu corect.
