Delete your account

You can delete your Peroglot account yourself, at any time, without asking us. This page explains how, and exactly what happens to your data.

From the app (fastest)

Open Peroglot and go to Settings → Account.
If you want a copy of your progress first, tap Export my data.
Tap Delete account and confirm.

The deletion runs immediately. Your progress on this phone is wiped too, and the app starts over as a new anonymous account the next time it connects.

By email

If you no longer have the app installed, write to support@peroglot.com with the subject "Delete my account".

If an email address is attached to your account, send the request from that address; that is how we know it is you.
If you signed in with Apple or Google, tell us which one, and send the request from the email address that account uses (for Apple, the relay address is fine).
If your account was anonymous (you never saved your progress), we cannot find it by email. Reinstall the app and delete from Settings, or simply uninstall: an anonymous account that never syncs again is removed by our monthly clean-up.

We confirm by reply and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually the same day.

What is deleted

Your email address and any Apple or Google sign-in identity.
Every device and session registered to the account; all phones are signed out.
Your onboarding profile (course, goal, daily target).
Every report you sent us, including the text you typed.
Your customer record with our billing provider, RevenueCat.
The link between the account and your device identifiers, so that nothing can ever be reattached to you.

What is kept

The learning statistics that every learner contributes to remain, in anonymous form: which sentence was answered how often and how it went. After deletion these rows point at an empty account with no identity, device or contact information, and cannot be connected to you. They are what tells us that a sentence is badly written and needs fixing. We keep no other data about you.

Deleted data also drops out of our encrypted backups within 35 days.

Your subscription is not cancelled

Deleting the account does not cancel a subscription, because the subscription is a contract between you and Apple or Google. Cancel it there:

iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Peroglot → Cancel.
Android: Play Store → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Peroglot → Cancel.
